3. Falconer series

Author: Elizabeth May

This series is one of the most underrated one according to me!!It requires more love and hype like some other series

Set in 1844, Edinburgh our female protagonist Aliena kameron, aka Kam lives a double life..

On one hand she is the only daughter of the Marquess of Douglas, disciplined girl with beauty and brains.

On the other hand, she is a faery-killer,that is a falconer who can see the faieries.Aliena made it her life’s aim to kill the faery race who were responsible for her mother’s death.

Along with Kiaran, who is a fairie himself and who also trains her to battle, she sets out to destroy and bring the fairie population to dust.

A YA fantansy novel with the perfect mix of adventure, romance, thriller, and with a strong female lead..highly recommend it if you have not yet picked it up!!!

3. Book review:

Title:10 things I hate about pinky
Author: Sandhya Menon.

Suitable for people who love: Rom-com, contemporary, young-adult,fake-dating,frenemies

I have heard soo much about Sandhya Menon on booktube. Many people recommended me to try her books if you want to experience some cute summer romance.

I’m soo glad that I finally picked one up and am soo in love with her writing!! This book is basically a companion novel of “When Dimple met Rishi“(which also came as a Netflix adaptation) and “there’s something about sweety”.

In this book our main characters are pinky kumar and Samir jha who are poles apart in nature!!

Samir: He’s the type of person who never breaks a rule, wants his life to be in full control and so lives his life by schedule and routine. He takes care of his mother and also wishes to become a lawyer.

Pinky: She on the other hand is like a rebel butterfly.Cheerful, impulsive and most importantly born to break rules.she is also a social justice activist and lives her life according to her desires.

Pinky visits her parents lake house to spend her Summer vacation, and by fates play Samir’s internship gets cancelled at the same time.

This is where things gets interesting..during a verbal fight with her parents, she cooks up a lie that she has this so called “perfect boyfriend”.

I don’t think we could be more opposite if we were custom-designed to be.

Pinky knows Samir through a mutual friend decides that he would be the perfect “fake boyfriend” according to her mother who also happens to be a reputed lawyer. She enters into a deal with Samir: he would pretend to be her boyfriend for the summer and in turn gets an internship opportunity.

But listen, people can change all the time. Maybe not in big, profound ways, but in little, incremental ways that end up changing essential parts of them anyway. It’s like a Rubik’s Cube – you start with one line at a time, and then everything begins to fit together.”

As time goes by,Being together and staring to understand each other sparks fly as they both fall for each other.Apart from these all the side characters were also well potrayed and Sandhya Menon has done justice to the story as a whole.

On the whole,if you are looking for a fluffy, fun-filled romance with some cute bickering here and there..this is the book for you!!

Also do check out some of the other Sandhya Menon’s writings👇

2. Book Review

Title: Tokyo ever after
Author: Emiko Jean

Suitable for readers who love: contemporary romance, young adult, and princess diaries.

This became one of the most anticipated book for me ever since I started hearing people raving about this in booktube.

Finally I read it and I’m soooo glad that I’m not disappointed!!this was soo good and so much better than I expected it to be.

The story is similar to princess diaries which has an asian american as the main lead and this itself was enough for me to pick it up.

The story starts of with our protagonist Izzumi who lives in America with her mom.Her life is a small circle which includes her mom and the asian girl gang(the AGG),Izzumi’s best and only friends.

All of this is until she finds out that her father is the crown Prince of Japan!!and so she is a REAL PRINCESS.She is whisked away to Japan to stay with her father and learn about the royal customs and rules.

This is where the real story starts…fast-paced,royal politics, jealous cousins,a forbidden love, difficulties of being a royalty..ufff this book totally took me by surprise!!

“Please do not strike me
from your memory, from the
perfect shape of your
heart. Please let us carry on
as we were, against the world”

Akio is definitely my new fav book boyfriend!!He is such a kind and caring person and I just love relationship arc of Akio and Izzumi.

The AGG– How in the world can I not mention them!! According to me they are the pillars of this story and the type of best friends everyone wish to have.

“I search for my bag
and my eyes catch on a bright pink sign. Welcome home
from the hospital! The rash cleared up, yay! Three girls are
smiling and wave frantically—Noora, Hansani, and Glory”

This story displays about the royal politics, romance, friendship, mother-daughter relationship and much more in a perfect mix.

“The Imperial Household Law
stipulates that only men whose fathers are emperors may
inherit the throne. However, some scholars may argue that
such law violates the principle that men and women be
treated equally as set forth in Article 14 of the constitution”

There is also the imperial family tree which helps a lot if you are confused about the relationship between the characters,

Overall this is definitely a satisfied summer read for me. Hope you guys love it as much as I did.
